Eversnap Alternative 2026: App Delisted, What to Use Instead
Eversnap's apps left the App Store and Google Play by 20 August 2026 and its site carries spam. What that means for a wedding, and a no-download alternative.
EventPixel vs Eversnap at a glance
Eversnap is one of the original wedding photo-collection apps — it was selling shared wedding albums back when most of today's QR platforms did not exist. In 2026 its website describes the product as "completely free" with "no limits," supporting photos and videos, with guests invited by text message or email who then download the Eversnap app to contribute to the album.
That model — app download required, invitation by contact details — is the heart of this comparison. EventPixel, like most of the current generation, is browser-based: guests scan a QR code and upload without installing anything. The difference sounds small and is enormous in practice, because every step between a guest and their first upload costs you photos.
All Eversnap claims here come from eversnapapp.com as checked on August 13, 2026 — with one important caveat about that site, covered below.
What we found when we checked
We verify every competitor on this site against their own live pages, and we report what we find even when it is awkward. Our August 13 check found signs of neglect; a re-check on August 20, 2026 found considerably more:
- Both apps are gone from the app stores. The iOS App Store link on eversnapapp.com's own homepage points to an app Apple's catalog no longer returns, and the Google Play listing it links returns a 404. As of August 20, 2026, a new guest cannot install Eversnap at all.
- "Completely free" sits next to a paid packages page. The homepage still says free with no limits, while the same site's wedding packages page lists paid tiers at $49, $199 and $249 — the two claims cannot both be the whole story.
- The site carries injected spam content — dozens of casino and gambling links unrelated to the product, the signature of a site that is compromised or abandoned. The footer copyright still reads 2013.
- Its original domain now belongs to someone else: geteversnap.com serves an unrelated page, also carrying spam links.
We cannot tell you from the outside whether Eversnap's backend still works for people who installed the app years ago. We can tell you that as of August 20, 2026 a wedding cannot realistically be run on it: guests can no longer get the app its sharing model requires. We keep this page up because couples still search for Eversnap — if its team revives the product, we will update this page.

The app requirement deserves the emphasis. At a wedding, the guests you most want photos from — parents, grandparents, the table of college friends who took the best candids — are exactly the people least likely to install an app during a reception. Every platform in this category learned that lesson; it is why the entire current generation, EventPixel included, moved to scan-and-upload. Eversnap's model predates that shift.

Everything below is what an outsider can observe. We did not sign in, and we cannot see whether the company's servers still run for people who installed the app years ago. We will re-check and update this table if the product comes back.

What Eversnap has genuinely going for it
- The price, if it holds. Free with no limits, taken at face value, beats every paid product in the category including ours. The question is whether a product with an untended website is one you want holding your wedding photos.
- Video support. Eversnap collects guest video; EventPixel does not.
- Private and open album modes, and invitations by text or email, which suits a smaller circle sharing an album over time rather than a single live event.
What to use instead in 2026
Three honest options, depending on what "instead of Eversnap" means to you.
- If you want the modern model: EventPixel. Guests scan a QR code and upload from the browser with no app and no account. Free for 100 uploads with an event website, RSVP and the live photo wall; one-time plans at $19, $39 and $69 remove the cap, and PixelFind face search is included from $39. Photos only, no video.

If you already have an Eversnap album
- If the app is still installed and still opens, download everything now. To a phone, then to a computer or a cloud drive you control. Do not wait for a convenient weekend; a service in this state can stop without notice.
- Do not run a new event on it. Guests who do not already have the app cannot get it, so the album will only ever hold what the few existing installs contribute.
- The photos on guests' own phones are the only copies you fully control. Ask the people who were there to send what they have, or put a QR gallery in front of them at the next family gathering and let it collect the backlog.
We found no export route we could verify from outside, so we are not going to describe one.
Choose one honestly
Choose Eversnap if free is the only criterion, video matters, and you have verified for yourself that the app currently works on your guests' phones — test it end-to-end before the wedding, not on the day.
Choose EventPixel if you want guests uploading in seconds with nothing to install, a live photo wall at the venue, PixelFind face search, a wedding website with RSVP, and a product whose published pricing and actively maintained platform you can hold us to.

Do wedding guests need to download the Eversnap app?

We do not know the company's side of it. What we can observe, as of 20 August 2026: both app-store listings its own site links to are gone, the site carries injected spam links and a 2013 copyright, and its original domain now serves an unrelated page. That is what an abandoned or compromised product looks like from outside. If it returns, this page will say so.
Is Eversnap still available in 2026?
Not to new users. As of 20 August 2026 it cannot be installed from the App Store or Google Play. Phones that already have it may still open the app; we did not test that and cannot say whether uploads still reach anyone.
Can I get photos out of an old Eversnap album?
If the app still opens on your phone, save every photo to the phone now and copy them somewhere you control. We could not verify any other export route, so we will not invent one. Failing that, the copies on your guests' own phones are what remains; ask for them directly.
